These tracks were originally intended for the soundtrack of a movie to feature The Runaways in their acting debut. "We're All Crazy Now" was to star remaining members Joan Jett, Lita Ford, and Sandy West in a Beatles/"Hard Day's Night"-styled look at the life of an all-girl rock band. According to The Runaways' manager at the time, Toby Mamis, the film was being funded by people who had no movie-producing experience. Lita and Sandy got cold feet and refused to participate, culminating in the Runaways' ultimate break-up as a band. Joan Jett honored her contract and filmed a handful of scenes for the picture under the direction of Bernard Girard, with actresses portraying her fellow Runaways. The financial plug was pulled midway through, but not before Jett was introduced to songwriter Kenny Laguna, who co-wrote these tracks with Jett and quickly became her long-time manager and confidant.
